Force and Motion Formula

From Newton’s second law of motion, we can express the relationship between force and motion mathematically as:

  • Force is the product of mass m and acceleration a and is given as:

F=m.a

  • We explain motion using laws of motion and it is the particle’s behaviour when in motion and is given as:

𝑠0+𝑣0𝑡+12𝑎𝑡2

Over here,

  • s = position of the particle
  • s0 = initial position of the particle
  • v0 = initial velocity of the particle
  • a = acceleration
  • t = time

All in all, force and motion are two heavily connected entities. Force can result in the acceleration, deceleration, change in direction or total cessation of motion.
